Dear Bike Riders, Runner, Volunteers and supporters of the the Los Angeles Chinatown Firecracker 5/10K Run who received a citation for parking February 11, 2012 at our event. First of all, we would like to apologize for the confusion and or anger you may have experience after receiving the citation. We had informed all our participants that there would a relaxed enforcement for our event. We had received a Relaxed enforcement permit from the Department of Transportation. Unfortunately, there was a break down in communication and the Traffic Officers who issued the citations did not receive the information regarding the relaxed enforcement. 

Los Angeles Councilmen Ed Reyes' office who helped us with obtaining the permit is now also helping us with the resolution as a result of the break down in communication. If you received a citation during this period of Relaxed enforcement please follow these instructions. 

1. You must have received this citation on Saturday, February 11, 2012 between the house of 7 A.M. to 4 P.M.

3. In order for Councilmen Reyes office to cancel the citation you need to do the following:

      a. Scan or photocopy the citation.

      b. Send an email with "CITATION" as the subjuect, to ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) with a copy of the citation 

          Or mail a copy to (our address) on the bottom left hand corner of the envelope write CITATION. DO NOT SEND THE ORIGINAL CITATION.

4. We will gather the information and forward it to Councilman Reyes Office.

5.Councilman Reyes' office has agree to CANCEL all citation that meet these parameters.
